Okay, so I know summer basically just got started, but it's truly never too early to start thinking about your Halloween costume. Sorry, but I'm not trying to piece my Halloween makeup and costume together at the last minute again. If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. That's why this year, I'm thinking of going as a devil. Yes, I'm well aware that sounds basic AF at first, but, thanks to the power of eyeshadow and face paint, there are so many devil makeup ideas that take your look from a snooze fest to an eye-catching head turner. In case you want to copy me—don't worry, I'm cool with it—I went ahead and rounded up 23 devil makeup ideas from Instagram, so you can be my spooky twin this year.

1

This Simple Devil Makeup

Not down to paint your entire body red for a Halloween costume? Same. Keep your devil makeup simple with a glossy red lip and a liquid red eyeshadow to finish off your look.

2

This Speed Demon Makeup Idea

If you love a good pun (I mean, who doesn't), give your costume a fun little twist and go as a speed demon. PS—a flame-inspired eyeshadow look is a great way to match your devil makeup with your race driver outfit.

3

This Purple Devil Makeup Idea

This look is perfect if you want to give off purple demon emoji vibes with your devil makeup. Once your look is complete, spritz on a setting spray so your makeup doesn't slide off halfway through the night.

4

This Gory Devil Makeup Idea

Want to go a little more ~spooky~ with your devil makeup? Grab some fake blood to recreate this gory look. And if you're truly trying to go all out, a pair of black contact lenses will really give off the whole possessed vibe.

5

Horn and Tail Eye Devil Makeup

If you're not down to go all out with your devil makeup look, try one detailed eye instead. Swipe on some red eyeshadow, then use a red and black eyeliner to draw a tail and horns around your eye.

6

Detailed Brow Devil Makeup

Want to wear some intricate yet subtle devil makeup this October ? This brow look is perfect for you. Use a liquid red eyeliner to draw a devil tail through your eyebrow, and then dust on some setting powder to make sure it lasts.

This epic eye look is a must if you want to execute your devil makeup costume flawlessly. It's also a lot easier to recreate than it looks—all you need is eyeshadow, gold highlighter, and a bright red lip.

Level up your devil makeup with this detailed eye look. Press on an orange-y red eyeshadow from your lids to your temples, and then buff it out for a smokey finish.

Yes, devil makeup can be festive! Here's proof. To replicate this look, grab some stick-on jewels and place them around your eyes to accessorize your face.

10

Half-Angel, Half-Devil Makeup

Want to add a little good girl into your devil makeup mix? Swipe on red eyeshadow, draw horns on your right eye, and then switch to an angel vibe on the left side.

11

Half-Face Devil Makeup

Okay, so, this devil makeup look isn't for the faint of heart. But if you're v into makeup, you should definitely try this one out. You'll need lots and lots of red face paint and a pair of yellow-colored contacts to bring this look to life.

12

Red Eyeshadow Devil Makeup

Sometimes you don't want to go all out on your Halloween look and instead go for something a little more low-key. Don't stress, I've got you. All you'll need to make this devil makeup your reality is some red eyeshadow and a black liquid liner.

Hey, it's all in the details, right? Turn your cat eye into a cute devil tail by adding an arrowhead tip with your eyeliner.

14

Teary Devil Makeup Look

Take some inspo from Euphoria's main character, Rue, and rock some glitter tears with your devil makeup.

If you're really about that devil life, go crazy with the red face paint. Next, layer on some mascara and press on some falsies to help your eyes really pop against all that blood-red paint.

16

Full Body Devil Makeup

You could just paint your face for your devil makeup look…or, you can up the ante by painting the top half of your body red. Just have a friend help you out so you don't miss any spots.

17

Black and Red Devil Makeup

Goth, but make it devil. Drip face paint down from the corner of your mouth and eyes to mimic fake blood. It's the perfect spooky add-on to any devil makeup.

What's a devil makeup look without horns? Instead of throwing on a horned headband, g rab some realistic horns and fake blood for a costume that's sure to impress.

19

Black Lip Devil Makeup

TBH, devil makeup isn't complete without the color red. But, it never hurts to switch it up a little bit. Rather than reaching for a candy apple-colored pout, swipe on some black lipstick instead.

For proof that you were actually paying attention in Art History 101, include a little pop art with your devil makeup. How? Blend in highlighter onto the high points of your face to add dimension and draw a few lines on your lips, chin, eyelids, and inside of any tears you draw on using white liner.

21

Jack-O-Lantern Devil Makeup

Combine your devil makeup look with a jack-o-lantern to create this Halloween mashup. Start slow when it comes to adding on black paint to create your mouth—especially since it's a lot harder to backtrack if you paint on too much.

22

Glitter Eye Devil Makeup

Not into spooky devil makeup? Tap some glitter on top of your eyeshadow to up the sparkle factor and tone down the scary.

This look is super graphic, so if you're not into the sight of blood…beware. But if you're down to recreate this devil makeup (that kind of looks like Pennywise, right?), get some fake blood, apply it in a "U" shape on your face, and then blend in some red eyeshadow underneath your eyes to create a bloodshot look.
